About Us
BlueChip Title Solutions Ltd was formed in 2007 to provide the market in Northern
Ireland and the Republic of Ireland with a title insurance service which would attract
the confidence of the legal community. This form of insurance is sometimes known
as Defective Title Insurance or a Title Indemnity Bond. BlueChip Title Solutions Ltd
represent, as marketers, First Title Insurance plc as a specialist title insurance company on
the island of Ireland.
Title insurance is designed to assist property transactions where there are issues
around the title which increase risk in relation to the transaction. The insurance
mitigates this risk and passes it to a very large insurer who will deal with any
claim insured under the policy on a no-fault basis. In some cases this will assist
in reducing the risk of a Professional Indemnity claim against a law firm.
We primarily provide service to Law Firms large and small, but also to Banks and
Insolvency Practitioners to help with the widest range of title insurance solutions
in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Formerly, title insurance was perceived as an issue of last resort and was characterised
by often slow and confused service, not helped by differences in land law between
the jurisdictions. There was little technical support for the legal profession in
accessing appropriate client solutions.
First Title Insurance plc has a reputation for excellent customer service and a flexible and problem-solving
attitude. Feedback from the market has been exceptional, with rapid turnaround of
enquiries and a wide range of title related problems insured.
During 2008, BlueChip became involved in the relaunch of the proposition to the
market in the Republic of Ireland and continues to be active in that market. With
the advent of NAMA in the middle of a credit crunch, the market has to some extent
shifted towards addressing problems around distressed asset sales or transfers.
