BlueChip Title Solutions Ltd was set up in 2007 to address a gap in the market. There was no specialist underwriting capacity in Northern Ireland for title insurance – lawyers had poor access to the title insurance market. Using First Title Insurance plc exclusively, BlueChip brought a new business model to bear and for the first time provided direct access to trained underwriters with whom lawyers could confidently arrange flexible solutions for their clients.


In 2008 the service was extended to the Republic of Ireland where again the legal market had very limited access to underwriting to assist with title issues.

The very active property market required a very rapid response service, with bespoke solutions delivered in very short timescales. The market has now changed and the product is in use frequently in ‘distressed sale’ situations to reduce lender risk in new transactions.
